Barça and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Alphonso Davies. The full-back would ask for 20 million gross to sign for a new team

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Alphonso Davies will be one of the main protagonists of the 2025 transfer market. The left-back has not yet renewed his contract with Bayern Munich and could leave as a free agent next summer, so clubs such as FC Barcelona and Real Madrid have set the machinery in motion to sign him at zero cost.

In principle, Los Blancos would lead the race since they have been on his trail for some time and the player would be happy to land at the Santiago Bernabéu. However, the Catalans want to take advantage of the 'trump card' of Hansi Flick, who already had the Canadian under his command at the Allianz Arena, to convince him to wear the Barça shirt from next season.

Davies' demand to sign with a new club

However, to secure his contract, both institutions would have to make a significant financial effort. According to 'Sky Sports Germany', the player has informed Bayern that, in order to sign his renewal, they must offer him 14 million gross euros. A figure that would increase if Davies leaves Germany, since the American is considering asking for 20 million gross per season from any team that wants to sign him.

A figure that would break the salary scale of the two big Spanish clubs, which since the crisis generated by the pandemic have been responsible for reducing the wage bill. On the contrary, Manchester United, another of the big interested parties in Davies, would not be affected by Alphonso's demands, since they are known for not putting up with 'buts' when it comes to pulling out their wallets to achieve their objectives. Despite this, it will be the full-back who will have the last word on his future.
