FC Barcelona would be on the trail of the new 'jewel' of Croatian football, Martin Baturina, a Dinamo Zagreb player, who would have already rejected an offer from Real Madrid
It is no secret that FC Barcelona has stood out in recent times for its keen eye for discovering talent, not only at a European level but also internationally. The Blaugrana team has been closely monitoring several emerging talents who have been shining in various parts of the world but have not yet reached their full potential.
These young players exhibit a striking talent and potential that, once polished, could turn them into 'top' footballers, either in the first team of Barcelona or as valuable assets in economic terms, with the option of being resold at a higher cost than they were initially bought for.
In this instance, the spotlight is on a talent currently shining in Croatian football, being the new great promise of Dinamo Zagreb. According to 'Sky Sports Germany' journalist Patrick Berger, Barcelona, along with other internationally renowned clubs such as Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Manchester United, are closely monitoring the talented 21-year-old midfielder, Martin Baturina.
Baturina has already turned down an offer from Real Madrid
So far, it appears that Barcelona has not made any offer to assess Martin Baturina's interest in joining the Catalan team, unlike Real Madrid, who tried to get ahead in the 'race' for the services of the Split native. However, the efforts of the Merengues proved fruitless.
The reason? It is said that Martin Baturina, dubbed the 'new Modrić,' rejected the offer from the Chamartín side, which included a five-year contract but with the condition of being loaned to another Spanish club during the first two seasons. The Croatian midfielder showed a preference for a stable sports project, where he could fully integrate into a team's dynamics, rather than being subject to the fluctuations of being loaned to another side.
The price Barcelona would have to pay if they want to sign the Croatian midfielder
Now it remains to be seen where this transaction leads and, ultimately, whether Barcelona becomes more interested in Martin Baturina. This is a matter that should prompt the Blaugrana to make a move sooner rather than later to secure a player who has already expressed his desire to leave Dinamo Zagreb, the team that owns his contract until 2028.
Under this premise, Dinamo Zagreb has already set an asking price for Martin Baturina, which ranges between €20 and €25 million. This amount is in line with the market value shown on the 'Transfermarkt' website, where he is valued at €20 million. It will be necessary to assess whether Barcelona will be able to make this significant investment, considering that it would entail a substantial economic expense.
