As suggested by the transfer expert journalist Ekrem Konur, the Blaugrana have once again shown interest in a player who was heavily linked in the past but appeared to have been relegated in the list of priorities: Jeremie Frimpong.

It is worth noting that the 23-year-old Dutch right-back, currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen, was previously considered an attractive reinforcement for FC Barcelona. The Amsterdam-born player is a right-back with great offensive capabilities, providing a constant threat on the right flank due to his speed and power, showing bravery in taking on opponents effectively.

Additionally, Frimpong consistently reaches the byline and possesses fantastic finishing ability, both in scoring goals and providing assists. However, Jeremie could improve defensively, where there is still room for progress.

Why didn't FC Barcelona opt for the signing of Jeremie Frimpong last summer?

Now, despite being one of the most attractive full-backs in Europe and having garnered significant interest from Barcelona, the main obstacle to this transfer by the Catalan club was, of course, the financial aspect.

Although the price of Frimpong, with a release clause of 40 million euros, could be considered affordable in the current transfer market, it was prohibitive for a Barcelona whose financial situation was not the most comfortable in the previous summer window. Therefore, the transfer of the Dutch player remained on hold.
