The FC Barcelona has recently adopted a transfer policy that has genuinely yielded very good results. In this sense, the Catalan team has mostly opted for signing young talents who stand out in different parts of the world and who have great potential for the first team.
Now, what is the purpose of these signings? Primarily, with the intention of finishing their development at La Masia, which presents two scenarios: giving them the opportunity to display their talent in the first team of Barcelona or considering a transfer to another club that allows, at the same time, to recover the investment made and obtain a significant profit from their transfer.
In the current context, when talking about players who are still in the process of establishing themselves in the First Division football, certain names emerge on Barcelona's agenda. Among them stands out Almugera Kabar, left-back of Borussia Dortmund, who has shone in the youth teams of the 'black and yellow' squad (U-17 and U-19), but has not yet had the opportunity to debut in the first team, despite being called up on some occasions (3).
Barcelona would be interested in signing Almugera Kabar
At this point, as reported by the German newspaper 'BILD', even though this case seemed to have cooled down, since in December 2023 the interest of FC Barcelona in Almugera Kabar was mentioned, that seemed to have been forgotten, as not much had been commented on since then. However, apparently the Blaugrana team has once again shown interest in the native player from Bremen.
Almugera Kabar is considered a reliable option to add depth to the left-back position alongside Alejandro Balde. Also, Barcelona's main interest in the player, apart from the sporting aspect, lies in the situation the German is experiencing at his club. With his contract ending with the institution in 2026 and despite having had outstanding performances in the youth teams of Borussia Dortmund, he has not had the opportunity to debut in the first team, leading to speculation on whether the German international could be seeking an opportunity to get minutes in the First Division.
However, we will have to wait and see how this case unfolds, as it would not be surprising if the German decides to renew with Dortmund, a team that, according to the aforementioned source, seems to be in a position to offer him an extension beyond his current contract. This would turn one of the most promising talents from the Borussia youth academy into a highly attractive asset, given the club's track record in developing and selling young players at very favorable prices.
