RB Leipzig refuses to give up on their demands for Dani Olmo. The board of the German team is not going to negotiate seriously with FC Barcelona until the conditions offered by the culés improve

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Leipzig do not plan to make things easy for the Blaugrana team for Dani Olmo. From the first contact, the Germans made it clear that they would keep their word with the player and allow him to go on the market this summer. Of course, under the amount of money that they ask for and with payments that contribute to balancing their financial balance, a demand that, up to now, Barça has not managed to meet.

This has caused the Eurocup champion to remain far from leaving the Bundesliga, at least with a destination in Barcelona. In recent days, the German club's sporting director, Rouven Schröder, and the coach, Marco Rose, have reiterated that they understand Terrasa's desire to leave, but that, in return, they expect an economic income that is up to his level and sporting performance.

In the last week, the Blaugrana board has made little progress, if any. Leipzig have chosen to focus almost all their efforts on finalising with PSG the extension of the loan of one of their best players, Xavi Simons, something that they have finally secured. Meanwhile, Barcelona continue to delay the issue and decided to wait for Joan Laporta to return from the team's tour of the United States.

Leipzig did not accept Barcelona's offer

Leipzig insists that the Blaugrana team's board and the midfielder's entourage have long been aware of the club's real requests to let him go. Despite the fact that his contractual clause has already expired, the Germans hope to receive around 60 million euros for his transfer.

Barcelona's board has already made the first proposal, where they reach the figure of 60 million, although only through multiple bonuses and after several split payments. This offer was immediately rejected, which indicates that the 'red bulls' are not willing to lower their demands either in amount or in form of payments. They need to balance their books and they plan to do so through one of their best players.

The positive thing is that, despite their refusal to accept the initial offer, Leipzig continue to respect Olmo's desire to wear the Barça shirt next season. For this reason they have decided to rule out other proposals and have not opened the door to teams from Saudi Arabia, who would be interested in the Spaniard.

It is estimated that Barcelona have already made a second proposal to the Germans, which raised the stakes to 50 million euros plus an extra 10 million in variables, but Leipzig want to secure the net amount of the clause with immediate effect to let their star go. According to recent information, the footballer's agents will travel to Germany next week to unblock the operation, so we could soon have news.
