Jamal Musiala is, to this day, one of the best young players in the world: a stellar name at Bayern Munich and one of the great talents with a lot of potential in the German national team. With these achievements in mind, it's no wonder that FC Barcelona has shown interest in securing his services, especially considering that the current coach of the team is Hansi Flick, a coach who knows him perfectly. It was in Heidelberg where he made his debut for 'Die Roten' in 2020, when he was just 17 years old, and used to regularly call him up when he led 'Die Mannschaft'.

Although initially the main reason for considering a possible union between Barcelona and Jamal Musiala was related to the uncertainty about his contract renewal with Bayern Munich, it currently seems that this contractual extension could materialize. However, the option of seeing this young star wearing the Blaugrana shirt cannot be completely ruled out, especially considering the desires of the talented German player.

Indeed, if there is something that has characterized Jamal Musiala over time, it is his admiration for FC Barcelona and, in particular, for the greatest legend in the club's history, Lionel Andrés Messi. In a recent interview with the German newspaper 'Sport Bild', the '42' of Bayern Munich expressed his admiration for 'La Pulga', recalling that as a child he always wore Messi's shirt, whom he considered his hero and favorite player.

Jamal Musiala's admiration for FC Barcelona

Here is when Musiala began to talk about his special connection with FC Barcelona: "Barcelona was my reference team, my favorite team. I had a Messi jersey. The midfield with Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquets fascinated me. I could watch their games over and over again".

A message that definitely gives wings to the thought that the talented attacking midfielder could land at some point with the Blaugrana team and that he wouldn't see it with bad eyes, especially if we consider the latest statement he made regarding his contract renewal with Bayern Munich, coincidentally also in this interview.

The uncertainty about his contract renewal with Bayern Munich

Musiala, talking about his renewal, warned: "Unfortunately, I cannot give the fans a Christmas present. There will be no news in the near future". In turn, Jamal made it clear that "in general, all the parameters that influence this big decision have to be right for me. If I renew my contract with Bayern, that is my ambition and my goal", thus undeniably leaving the door open to a possible non-renewal with the Bavarian team.

Now it will have to be assessed whether Musiala finally does not renew and the conditions are opened for a possible transfer. If Barcelona ventures to try this incorporation, they could try to sign him as a free agent from June 30, 2026, if Jamal does not renew his contract, or consider a transfer with favorable conditions in the summer of 2025.

This would be a quite interesting addition to consider, but it could clash with the names of Hansi Flick's current sports project, who has Dani Olmo and Pedri González playing in the attacking midfielder position, where Musiala excels.
