The two alternatives that Barça manages to take the place of Memphis

FC Barcelona has the green light to sign the possible replacement for Memphis Depay, once the striker completes his move to Atlético de Madrid. Although the club has little salary margin to strengthen itself, interesting options are arriving from Italy and England for the winter market: Marcelo Brozovic and Gonçalo Guedes, two players with very different characteristics that Xavi Hernández likes.

In the case of the Croatian, for days there has been talk about the possibility of agreeing a barter with Inter Milan that includes Franck Kessié. However, the position of the 'Nerazzurri' group remains skeptical of accepting the exchange without including an extra amount or another player for Brozovic who lost his starting position with Simone Inzaghi's men due to his physical problems in the first part of the season .

In addition, Kessié is not clear about his return to Serie A either and prefers to stay at Barça to fight for a position in the midfield, even knowing that the competition is very tough with Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong. With Inter, the possibility of signing Joaquín Correa was also contemplated if Depay ended up in Milan, something that has already been totally ruled out given the desire of Moordretch to go to Atlético.

For his part, Gonçalo Guedes would be a purely offensive reinforcement. The former Valencia player was already in the culé orbit last season and would be delighted to return to Spain, since his adaptation to the Premier League has not been easy and the relationship with Julen Lopetegui is not good either. Thus, the negotiation would not be complicated with the player, since Jorge Mendes is his agent, but Wolverhampton will not let him go so easily.

A loan, the only alternative for Guedes

The 'Wolves' paid 32.6 'kilos' to Valencia for his transfer in the summer and, with a contract until June 2027, a loan out until the end of the season seems the only viable alternative to see Guedes at Barça. With Brozovic, on the other hand, his purchase could be made, as long as Inter accepted the barter for Kessié so that the operation was endorsed by LaLiga.
