Two 'top' forwards have reportedly emerged as alternatives to be the next great '9' for Barça
At a time when Robert Lewandowski is maintaining a remarkable level of play (with 38 goals in 42 matches) and, at 36 years old, seems to be experiencing a second youth, with a renewal with FC Barcelona that is expected to be imminent, the blaugrana team is still monitoring options to strengthen their attack. Likewise, some star forwards have been offered to the culé team as possible replacements for the Polish striker. Although the level of interest from Barça in these players is unknown, it is worth mentioning them.
According to a recent report by 'SPORT', FC Barcelona has been offered two options to bolster the center forward position: Dusan Vlahović and Victor Osimhen. Both are highly regarded '9's and recognized as true area 'killers', although their respective current situations suggest a need for a change of scenery to relaunch their careers.
Vlahović could leave for a price lower than his market value
Regarding Vlahović, the 25-year-old Serbian forward has lost prominence at Juventus, where he has accumulated 14 goals and three assists in 35 matches so far in the 2024-25 season. Additionally, his contract expires on June 30, 2026, and his stance seems distant from a renewal. These factors suggest that he could be a sale option in the upcoming summer market.
While his situation could change with the recent arrival of Igor Tudor to the 'Juve' bench, no scenario regarding his future is ruled out. It has also been reported that Vlahović would leave for a price lower than his market value, around 40 million euros. However, although the operation could be considered a 'low-cost' opportunity, it seems that it does not spark great interest in the blaugrana sports management and is not considered a priority.
Osimhen, a 'top' option on a sporting level, but...
On the other hand, the case of Victor Osimhen makes him a more attractive target for FC Barcelona. The Nigerian forward, currently owned by Napoli but loaned to Galatasaray, has demonstrated his scoring ability with 26 goals and five assists in 31 matches. At 26 years old, he remains a valuable asset in European football.
However, doubts surrounding Osimhen seem to be more related to the conditions of his potential incorporation into the club. It is estimated that, due to the tense situation between the player and Napoli, he will seek to leave definitively in the summer. The Italian side, which has compensated for his absence with Romelu Lukaku, does not seem inclined to retain him.
The main obstacle to his signing lies in the economic conditions of his departure. It has been rumored that Napoli would only let him go for the value of his release clause, estimated at 75 million euros, an amount that, in principle, FC Barcelona would not be willing to pay. Furthermore, his high salary demands complicate the operation even more, making his incorporation complex from a financial standpoint despite his sporting appeal.
