The FC Barcelona board already has a clear part of its roadmap for the summer of 2025. At the moment, the club does not foresee too many departures and will only go for two or three strategic reinforcements

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Hansi Flick and Deco are already working on creating the FC Barcelona squad for 2025/26. The good results obtained in the first part of this season give the club enough peace of mind and confidence to trust the current squad and, although the board trusts to have full financial solvency to sign without restrictions, Barça's market plan It does not contemplate important expenses in the next summer.

In principle, the priorities in terms of reinforcements are to incorporate another left-footed winger capable of covering Robert Lewandowski's back in terms of scoring production and, in addition, it is planned to armor the sides with a full-back for each profile. The ideal is to sign a 'low cost' right back to give Jules Koundé a break (the Frenchman has been playing practically everything) and, on the left, there are intentions to go for a 'top' defender who will challenge Alejandro's ownership Bucket.

For now, these would be the only positions that Barça plans to reinforce, waiting for how many departures end up taking place next summer. The board does not contemplate, by any means, a revolution in the squad, but there is openness to listening to offers, as long as the footballer expresses his desire to leave. Some 'heavyweights' like Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araújo can leave significant amounts in cash to go for a global 'crack', but the club will not make hasty decisions and it will be the players who decide what step to take in 2025.

Nico Williams and other left-footed wingers on Barça's radar

As for wingers, the name of Nico Williams continues to be important, although the Basque's decline after the Euro Cup and his move to Barcelona last summer have significantly cooled the enthusiasm generated by his signing. For price (€65M), the one from Pamplona looks like a more viable alternative than figures like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia or Rafael Leao (both would be around €100M), although there are also very interesting 'low cost' options.

Barça remains very attentive to the future of Leroy Sané and Mohamed Salah, since both are out of contract at the end of 2024/25 and would fit very well into Hansi Flick's scheme. Karim Adeyemi is also very popular, since his transfer could be closed at around €50M and, at 22 years old, he is one of the forwards with the best prospects in German football along with Florian Wirtz, another player highly valued by Barça, although his price (around €120M) complicates the negotiation with Bayer Leverkusen.

The left side will also be a priority in terms of laterals

As for full-backs, Barça's position is more focused on low-profile players on the right side. Koundé's level gives the board reasons to bet long-term on the Frenchman, but Flick's lack of confidence in Héctor Fort keeps the possibility of going for another young defender on the table. Marc Pubill (21), from Almería, is one of the best valued options for now.

On the left, however, the objective is to go for a young player, but with greater hierarchy. The more than probable departure of Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich (contract expires in June) has activated culé interest in the Canadian, although it would be necessary to bid hand in hand with Real Madrid and other big players for a footballer with a high salary.
