The Sevilla board has been negotiating with Deco for several weeks regarding the loan of two 'discarded' players from Hansi Flick for the second half of the 2024/25 season. Recent reports indicate the approach of the Sevilla sporting director, Víctor Orta, with the top brass of FC Barcelona to resolve the loan of Ansu Fati and Pablo Torre, both players requested by coach Francisco García Pimienta.

The coach has been insisting since last summer on the arrival of the '10', a deal that was put on hold due to the injury of the player from Bissau during preseason. Although the winger has suffered another strain in his right thigh a few weeks ago, the club hopes to give him medical clearance before the end of the year.

Moreover, the forward would not oppose the loan, understanding that, given the tough competition for a spot at Barça, the best option is to move to a club he knows very well. Ansu went through Sevilla's youth academy before arriving in Barcelona in 2012 and also maintains an excellent relationship with García Pimienta, one of his coaches at La Masia (they coincided in the Juvenil A).

Pablo Torre, much closer to moving to Sevilla

The other Barça player in Sevilla's sights is Pablo Torre. Unlike Fati, Flick sees the Cantabrian as one of his trusted substitutes, but the fierce competition for minutes in the Barça midfield leaves the player from Soto de la Marina as the last option, surpassed by names with greater hierarchy like Gavi and Fermín López.

In this sense, the understanding between the parties is excellent and the loan of the former Racing de Santander youth player should not take too long. Torre played last season on loan at Girona, another club interested in signing him in January. If the negotiation with Sevilla fails, Míchel's team awaits him with open arms in Montilivi, where he did not have the expected playing time in the 2023/24 season.
