FC Barcelona will have an intense transfer market next summer. There are several targets in the sights of the Blaugrana board, and from the Real Madrid squad, there are at least two 'stars' that would fit perfectly into Hansi Flick's team
In the European market, there is always room for a blockbuster, especially in the summer, when teams usually make the bulk of their investments thinking about the upcoming season. In the case of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, there have been several 'stars' who have moved from one team to another, generating a wave of reactions in the press and indelible wounds in the fans. From Barça to Madrid, the most famous case is undoubtedly that of Luis Figo (2000), while, conversely, one of the most remembered was that of Luis Enrique (1996).
Thinking about the upcoming summer market, at least two players from the current 'merengue' squad would fit wonderfully into the Blaugrana team. Barça has had serious problems reinforcing itself for a couple of summers due to 'Financial Fair Play', but this year, returning to the 1:1 rule, the landscape will be very different. For now, the club does not have enough money in the bank to amortize a 'top' transfer, but one or two important sales in the summer will easily open the doors to several reinforcements, as the 1:1 means being able to reinvest the total amount received from transfers into long-term amortizable purchases.
Barça could 'fish' in Madrid for the ideal winger and midfielder
In this sense, Barça would benefit greatly from 'fishing' in a white team that may undergo significant changes in its squad for the 2025/26 season. The end of Carlo Ancelotti's cycle at the helm of the team will open the door to at least a couple of key players, with Rodrygo Goes and Fede Valverde having the best chances of earning a place in Hansi Flick's starting eleven. The competition for a spot in the culé XI is already fierce, but both the Brazilian and the Uruguayan would be luxury additions that would undoubtedly find a place in the coach's plans with little time to work.
The winger has already been mentioned as a possible departure from Madrid following the arrival of Kylian Mbappé and everything that it meant to be overshadowed by the new 'merengue' attacking trident and the famous 'BMV' that was supposed to be formed with the Frenchman, Jude Bellingham, and Vinicius Jr. 'Carletto' has managed to keep the '11' as a starter, but undoubtedly the 24-year-old forward deserves more prominence than he currently has in the Italian coach's scheme. It is no coincidence that he is being mentioned as a possible reinforcement for PSG and other big clubs ahead of the next transfer window. For Manchester City, for example, he would fit like a glove.
Rodrygo, an old target that would fit perfectly in the culé attack
Madrid won the 'race' against Barça for Rodrygo in 2019, paying 45 million euros to Santos. Currently, the winger is valued at 100 'kilos' on Transfermarkt and his contract expires in 2028. So far, the club has not addressed his renewal and, while he has a high release clause (around 500M €), his departure could be closed for 100 'kilos' or less. Regarding his salary, the winger earns around 10M € net per year, a manageable figure for the culé finances.
Now, on the sporting side, the '11' would undoubtedly fit seamlessly into Flick's team as a left winger. When Vinicius is unavailable due to suspension or injury, Rodrygo has stepped in for his compatriot on multiple occasions, even before the arrival of Mbappé (with whom the Frenchman connects better than with 'Vini'). In total, he has scored 67 goals and provided 48 assists in 249 official matches with Madrid.
And the player from Osasco also has a lot of quality in one-on-one situations and the ability to reach the byline, but he is much more accurate in finishing and decision-making inside the area. Like Raphinha, he is a very selfless player on the field, who would 'fly' alongside the Porto Alegre native and Lamine Yamal in a Barça that, without a natural left winger, is on track to complete a historic season in terms of goal production.
Fede Valverde, an 'all-rounder' tailored for Barça
For his part, Fede Valverde also deserves special consideration for the Blaugrana's market plans. In his early days, the Uruguayan made many tactical errors and often overexerted himself when contesting balls. However, since Ancelotti's arrival, the 'charrúa' has become the complete midfielder, a player who seems to have two extra lungs, covering more ground than anyone else on the field and with the ability to play practically any position (pivot, interior, winger, wing-back, full-back, attacking midfielder...).
Flick's Barça has greatly benefited from the physical recovery of Pedri González, who, along with Marc Casadó and Frenkie de Jong, has shone like never before in the 24/25 season. Not to mention what he could do alongside Madrid's '8', an ideal player to provide safe outlets for the team and who also has a tremendous shot. It is no coincidence that he has already scored 29 goals in 297 official matches, in addition to 27 assists.
Financially, Valverde's salary is slightly higher than Rodrygo's (he earns between 16 and 17M € net per year), while his release clause is 1,000 million. The 26-year-old player renewed in 2023 for six more years, until June 2029 and, after inheriting Toni Kroos's number, has established himself as one of the 'untouchables' of the team.
And you, which Real Madrid player would you sign for Barça?
