FC Barcelona would be willing to sell Frenkie de Jong and would have already stipulated a price for it. What would it be? We tell you at FCBN

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The situation of Frenkie de Jong at FC Barcelona seems to be reaching a critical point for the team. Why? Beyond the uncertainty surrounding his contract renewal, which has not yet been resolved and does not seem close to being finalized, there is also the fact that the Dutch midfielder is not showing his best athletic form.

This is not mere speculation, as the native of Arkel apparently has been sidelined in Hansi Flick's sports planning, as when he has had the opportunity to play, he has barely shown flashes of the talent he is recognized for. This is probably due to not being in his best physical shape due to setbacks related to his right ankle.

This issue has allowed his teammates to surpass him in consistency and performance, casting doubt on his role in the team. Frenkie de Jong himself seems to be aware of this, as he recently revealed the reasons that could motivate him to leave the club.

Given these circumstances, it would not be surprising if Barcelona considers the sale of the Dutch midfielder, an asset that still has considerable market value. Additionally, selling him could be positive for two reasons: first, the economic income that would come from Frenkie's transfer, and second, the relief in the wage bill that it would represent for the team, given that De Jong is one of the highest-paid players in the Barcelona squad.

The price that Barcelona would ask for to let go of Frenkie de Jong

In this regard, apparently, Barcelona has already set a selling price to definitively part ways with the Dutch midfielder. According to 'Fichajes.net', the team from the Ciudad Condal would be willing to sell Frenkie de Jong if they receive an offer ranging between 50 to 60 million euros.

This amount, it should be noted, would be several million less than what was invested in the Dutch player, who arrived at Barcelona for a total of 75 million euros plus 11 in variables. However, it is clear that for the Catalan team, it is clearly better to receive a lower amount for Frenkie de Jong than, if not renewed, for next summer, if the team seeks a sale, it will have to be aware that, due to negotiation conditions, a lower amount will be received than his maximum possible market value. That or risk letting him go as a free agent in 2026.
