Abde Ezzalzouli turned out to be key in resolving Vitor Roque's transfer to Palmeiras. FC Barcelona convinced Betis to release 'Tigrinho' thanks to the Moroccan winger
FC Barcelona finalized the transfer of Vitor Roque to Palmeiras for 25.5 million euros plus an additional 5 'kilos'. The operation allows the club to avoid losses from the failed signing of the Brazilian forward, who was on loan at Real Betis until the end of the season, with an option for an extra year and the possibility of purchase. Despite the initial refusal from Manuel Pellegrini's side to part with the Brazilian's services, the termination of his contract was finally approved 'thanks' to Abde Ezzalzouli.
Betis acquired Abde's services in 2023 after paying 7.5 million euros for 50% of his sporting rights. Now, the 'verdiblanco' team will have 80% control over the contract of the Moroccan international. The other option that interested the Andalusians was to keep Pau Víctor or, alternatively, receive financial compensation for breaking the loan of 'Tigrinho'. Ultimately, Barça was able to unlock the departure of the 20-year-old forward by ceding an additional 30% of the rights of their former youth player.
Ez Abde, out for Betis against Real Madrid
However, not all news is good for Betis with 'Ez'. In the press conference prior to the match against Real Madrid this Saturday at 18:30, Manuel Pellegrini confirmed the absence of the 23-year-old player due to a muscle problem. "Abde has a strong blow that prevents him from training normally; he is still recovering. He could return next week," explained the Chilean coach.
The player from Béni Mellal has scored 5 goals and provided 4 assists in 34 matches (2,240 minutes) with Betis. In La Liga, he hasn't played since February 8 in the loss against Celta (3-2). That day he played 18 minutes, while last week, against Ghent in the Conference League (loss 0-1), he played the entire match. The winger is contracted with the 'verdiblancos' until 2029 and, now, the Andalusian team has greater control over his future 'thanks' to Vitor Roque. Against Madrid, Betis will also be without Pablo Fornals.
