Vitor Roque is experiencing his worst moment at Real Betis. The Brazilian had a promising start to the season, but has only scored 1 goal in his last 10 matches
The future of Vitor Roque is causing concern at FC Barcelona. The Blaugrana board managed to send 'Tigrinho' on loan to Real Betis, with a non-mandatory purchase option for 25 million euros for 80% of his sporting rights. However, his poor performance under Manuel Pellegrini's orders this season practically rules out this scenario. In the best case, the 'verdiblancos' would renew his loan for another year.
'Tigrinho' had a good start to the season, with 5 goals in his first 14 matches, but he has barely managed to score against Villarreal in his last ten appearances across La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Conference League. In the Copa, in fact, he wasted several clear chances against Huesca, a match that the Betis team barely managed to resolve by the minimum with a goal from Isco in the first half. These performances seem to have exhausted the patience of the Andalusians, while the forward is also considering returning to his country, perhaps with Palmeiras.
Betis grows tired of Vitor Roque and seeks another forward in January
Not surprisingly, the 'verdiblanca' board has been looking for another forward in the winter market, due to the lack of goals from the Brazilian. One of the options that has been strongly rumored in recent days is Ansu Fati, who has no place in Barcelona and is also on Sevilla's radar. The '10', in fact, was left out of the squad for the match against Athletic, for the 'semis' of the Spanish Supercup, a clear message from Hansi Flick regarding his future.
Returning to Vitor Roque's case, the Timóteo player may see his opportunities reduced if Betis signs another forward, so he does not rule out requesting his departure in January. The '8' has remained in Pellegrini's lineup for the last eight matchdays of La Liga, but has only accumulated a couple of assists, in addition to the aforementioned goal against the 'Yellow Submarine'.
His record for the 2024-25 season is 6 goals and 2 assists in 24 matches (1,308 minutes). In this sense, an early goodbye to the Andalusian team would put Barça in serious trouble regarding their aspirations to recover the 30 million fixed that they paid to Athletico Paranaense for his transfer in 2024. 'Tigrinho' only spent one semester with the Blaugrana team where he scored a couple of goals in 16 appearances (353 minutes).
