The investment that Palmeiras will make for Vitor Roque will become the most expensive acquisition in the history of 'Verdão' and, in turn, in South American football
The sale of Vitor Roque to Palmeiras will leave a significant economic benefit to FC Barcelona. The 'Verdão' will close the transaction in a transfer valued at 25 M€ for 80% of the economic rights of 'Tigrinho', a deal that also includes an additional payment of five 'kilos' if certain variables are met, which would bring the operation to a total of 30 million euros.
Moreover, this acquisition of Vitor Roque by Palmeiras is particularly special for the team of Abel Ferreira. From a sporting perspective, they are acquiring a scorer who, despite not having established himself in Europe, has already demonstrated his ability in Brazil when playing with confidence and continuity, as seen during his time at Athletico Paranaense (28 goals and 11 assists in 81 matches).
Additionally, from a market perspective, the bet on the forward is yet another demonstration of the economic power that 'Verdão' possesses. One of the teams with the greatest financial solidity in South America.
Vitor Roque: the most expensive signing in the history of Palmeiras and South American football
In this regard, the signing of Vitor Roque by Palmeiras, at a cost of 25 M€, will become the most expensive addition in the history of the Paulista institution. The signing of 'Tigrinho' will surpass the recent investment made to bring in the 24-year-old attacking midfielder, Paulinho, who also arrived in this winter market from Atlético Mineiro for 18 M€.
Furthermore, the signing of Vitor Roque by Palmeiras will also become the most expensive investment made by a South American club to sign a player. In this aspect, the one from Timóteo will surpass the signing of Wendel by Botafogo, a team that in 2025 paid 20 M€ to secure the return to Brazil of the midfielder, who will be at Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia until mid-year.
Completing the podium of major signings in South American football, in third place is the signing of Argentine midfielder Thiago Almada, also by Botafogo. In 2024, 'Fogão' paid 19.5 M€ to acquire the services of this gem who at that time was part of Atlanta United.
