Barça are not very optimistic about the final day of the transfer market. Club sources have practically ruled out the option of reinforcing before the window closes and no moves are expected unless there is a major surprise
FC Barcelona is entering the final day of the transfer market with a minimum number of players. The Catalan club was unable to close the agreements with Barça Studios and Nike in time, vital sources in the club's intention to return to the 1/1 rule in order to be able to reinforce itself normally, which is why the sporting management was pessimistic about the possibility of reinforcing itself before the end of the summer window in the midst of this unfavourable context.
As the aforementioned deals could not be finalised, the option of the president's endorsement along with other directors, previously used to register signings such as Koundé or Iñigo Martínez, was on the table. However, sources from the Catalan club assured 'Mundo Deportivo' that it would only be considered if Deco and Hansi Flick proposed a high-quality reinforcement to bolster the team. Meanwhile, in the sporting area it was clear that without the 1/1 rule the arrival of any top-level footballer was unfeasible.
Outside of this rule, the options of making a signing are reduced to a minimum, unless it is a free agent or one that his team wants to get rid of immediately during today's matchday. However, this option is also conditional, since in this scenario, the player involved would have to adjust his salary to the economic reality of Barça and LaLiga validates him as a real player. A rather complicated operation to square with hardly any salary 'fair play'.
Thus, the Catalan entity finds itself with 'hands tied' because the big agreements expected to be able to enter the market have not arrived in time. The renewal of the contract with Nike, added to the entry of an investor for Barça Vision, were the two ways handled by the culés to balance their accounts, but they have not been able to materialize. The signing of the new contract with the 'swoosh' brand meant a powerful injection of money that would have allowed Barça to undertake a 'heavy' operation, but it would come in September, once the summer has ended.
No moves expected this Friday
Thus, from the offices of Spotify Camp Nou they have been pointing out for several hours that there will be no moves unless there is a major surprise. Without the longed-for 1/1, the Blaugranas can only use 60% of the salary and amortisation of the player being sold and only 20% of what they earn from him to reinforce the team. A bad short-term deal for the club, since only a minimal part of what they earn would be useful to assume a possible signing.
For this reason, neither departures nor arrivals are expected in the final hours of the transfer market. Hansi Flick does not want to weaken the defence further and lose a versatile player who can cover up to three positions, so the sale of Eric García to Girona is ruled out. Same case as Ansu Fati, since the failed signing of a left winger could give him a new opportunity under the German.
