Xavi Simons' future is strongly pointing towards the Premier League this summer. At least three teams from the 'Big Six' are interested in the former youth player of FC Barcelona
Xavi Simons could make the leap to a giant of the Premier League this summer, after a couple of good seasons in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig. In this regard, British journalist Pete O'Rourk claims that the former youth player of FC Barcelona would have good chances of becoming a reinforcement for Liverpool next season, anticipating a market with several departures (Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Salah...) at Anfield Road.
Xavi only signed until 2027, which suggests that Leipzig could be open to selling him and cashing in for a big profit this summer. Initially, the transfer could close for around 70 million euros, considering that the player from Amsterdam has a market value of 80 million euros. However, the 'reds' are not the only ones interested in the midfielder.
City and United are also keeping an eye on Xavi Simons
And O'Rourk himself points out Manchester City in the 'race' for a Xavi who, this season, has 6 goals and 5 assists in 20 matches with Marco Rose's team. The City is looking to replace Kevin De Bruyne and Simons would be a good option. I believe there will be several clubs interested in him this summer, added the journalist specialized in transfers. A third alternative in the Premier for the 21-year-old player points to Manchester United.
The 'red devils' had already wanted him in other transfer windows, but Leipzig put more money on the table to take him away from PSG. In the end, the French side made a great deal with the midfielder, who arrived 'for free' in 2019 from Barcelona and could leave up to 80 'kilos' in their coffers, as the transfer to the German team included another 30M € in variables. So far, the Dutch international has 16 goals and 20 assists in 63 appearances with Leipzig. Previously, he also had a very good stint at PSV Eindhoven (scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists in 48 matches).
